Develop Your Taiji Push Hands Skills
with Master Ji Shou Xiang
Master Ji Shou Xiang has spent over 50 years studying Tai Chi and Tai Chi Push Hands under leading Tai Chi masters in China. His ability to teach this complex system has been well recognised by leading universities and wushu associations in Jiangsu. His passion for the mental and physical benefits associated with push hands is also widely acclaimed.
We are honoured to have Master Ji in Melbourne for 6 weeks to run programs and private classes to the Melbourne Tai Chi community.
Master Ji will explain his six theories of push hands and lead students through to the stage where they are able to further their practice by themselves and with a partner.

Workshop 1: Introduction to 8-Form Tai Chi (八式太極拳 ) with Sifu Raymond Au
The 8-Form Tai Chi, also commonly referred to as the 10-Form Tai Chi, is a simplified Tai Chi routine ideal for beginners and seniors. It is mainly derived from Yang Style Tai Chi, with a simple structure, flowing movements, and easy-to-follow sequences. It is suitable for indoor practice as only a small space is needed and it helps calm the mind and enhance physical wellbeing.
The 8-Form Tai Chi is also part of the Technical Routine for Duan Level 1 in the Chinese Wushu Duanwei System.
Workshop 2: Chen Style Push hand with Sifu Sam Au
Tai Chi push hand (Tui Shou), is a partner-based exercise that is a core component of Taijiquan practice.
This workshop will focus on developing sensitivity, balance, timing, and coordination by engaging in controlled, cooperative physical contact with a partner. It will cover the Chen style four straight jing (pang, lu, ji, an) push hand drill that involve spiraling movements, and methods of listening and responding to the partner’s energy.

Celestial Tai Chi College Cultural Tour
With Grand Master Eng Chor Khor
The cultural tour will start in Urumqi in western China and follow the Silk Road route to Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
