24th WTQA Festival 2026

Following two years of incredibly successful, performance-focused festivals, we are pleased to announce that this year’s WTQA Festival will return to a competition format, similar to that held in 2023. While competition will once again be part of the Festival, demonstration-only performances continue to be warmly welcomed, reflecting WTQA’s commitment to participation, inclusivity, and community.

Date: Sunday 30th August 2026

Time: 1pm to ~ 4:30pm (Doors open for participants and volunteers at 12pm)

Venue: Carwatha College 43-81 Browns Road, Noble Park North, Vic. 3174

Audience Entry Fees – Purchase on the day at the door

Adults: $10

Families: $30 (2 adults and 2 children)

Children 12 and under are free and must be accompanied by an adult.

Haven’t been to one of our festivals before? Here’s what to expect:

  • Opening Ceremony, including the traditional Lion Dance

  • Demonstrations and competitions featuring both traditional and contemporary Wushu, Tai Chi and Qigong forms

  • A wide variety of barehand and weapon forms

  • Inspiring Master demonstrations

  • Individual and group events, showcasing the breadth and diversity of the arts

  • Our much-loved mass performance of the Tai Chi 24-Form, where participants and audience members are invited to join together in practising this popular form

Participant Eligibility: The WTQA Festival is open to all WTQA members, including students of WTQA member schools. Students of WTQA member schools are recognised as subsidiary members of WTQA and are therefore eligible to participate in the Festival.

Due to insurance requirements, participants who are not WTQA members or subsidiary members are not eligible to participate.

Demonstration Only: Participants may choose to perform as demonstrators without being assessed or scored by judges.

Participants may compete in each of these disciplines.

a) Wushu

b) Taijiquan

c) Qigong

Participation may be individual or with a group with a minimum of 2 and maximum of 20 participants.
